The way Jupiter orbits the Sun we can get a close look on September 20th, 2010. Jupiter will be 75 million kilometers closer than our previous encounter in August 2009. The next time Jupiter and Earth pair up so closely wont be until 2022. We can expect Jupiter will appear about 4 percent brighter than normal due to one of its brown cloud belts will be hidden from view.
